When one member follows another, the posts made by the person being followed show up in the timeline of the follower. But why would you want to follow another member in the first place?

When two members are connected, they can communicate in ways that aren’t possible between unconnected members…
- Connected members can send direct messages to each other
- A member can specify that an activity post is visible only to those with whom they’re connected
A connection must be accepted by the connectee. If it’s ignored or rejected, the two members remain unconnected. This ensures every member retains control over who they will and won’t allow direct communication.
